Swans, Kaserne Basel, 25.03.13

Well, the Swans are kind of a legendary band – legendary non-legends – legendary underground! Being active for over 30 years, they released The Seer last year, a record which truly may be considered their magnum opus, a record which was announced by band leader (and only constant member) Michael Gira with the words

„The Seer took 30 years to make. It’s the culmination of every previous Swans album as well as any other music I’ve ever made, been involved in or imagined.“

Now, the Swans are touring Europe these days and made station at the Kaserne in Basel recently. And they are a formidable live band, skipping all softer parts from the records and presenting what many would regard as pure noise – pure positve noise! Got it? For those interested in my impressions, I’m glad to share them:
