Montreux Jazz Festival’s poster presentation
Not even a month after the unforeseeable and tragic death of founder Claude Nobs, the organizers presented the poster of this year’s festival which takes place from 5th to 20th of July. It was designed by the world-renowned Oscar Oiwa from Sao Paolo.
Actually, during the MJF spin-off in Kawasaki, Japan, last November, Claude Nobs, Mathieu Jaton and Seigen Ono were discussing the direction this year’s festival should head for when the latter suggested his friend Oscar Oiwa for designing the poster which they immediately confirmed by an text message to the artist.
The plan was to get a lively and colorful one, painted as opposed to last years photography-art. Well, sadly enough, Claude Nobs never saw the result but surely he’d agree on “Mission Accomplished, Oscar”:
